A stranger shows up in town and disrupts Hae Won and Eun Seop’s happiness. He seems to be the same man from the picture Eun Seop carries in his wallet. Eun Seop receives a phone call at the bookstore that leads to an impromptu trip to see the landlord with Hae Won. It becomes a chance for the two to fall deeper in love. Meanwhile, Yun Taek asks Myeong Yeo to send him the first line of her new novel. Myeong Yeo sends over a single line via fax that contains a shocking secret from the past.
Myeong Yeo fax puts Yun Taek in a frenzy and he calls Myeong Yeo all day long, even though she won’t pick up. Meanwhile, Myeong Yeo sends the manuscript for her new book to Eun Seop and Yun Taek. Although it is supposed to be a mixture of fiction and non-fiction, the story seems a bit too truthful and personal.
Myeong Yeo declares that she wants to turn herself in to the police and that she has been suffering from guilt all this time. Hae Won is hurt and confused that she didn’t know about any of what happened. With winter passing by and spring just around the corner, Eun Seop must prepare to let Hae Won go.
