Behind the Scenes of Geostorm

Geostorm was directed, co-written, and co-produced by Dean Devlin in his feature directorial debut. Devlin is best known for producing blockbuster movies like Independence Day and Stargate. The movie stars Gerard Butler, Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish, Ed Harris, and Andy García.

Principal photography began on October 20, 2014, in New Orleans, Louisiana, with an initial budget of $82 million. However, after poor test screenings, $15 million reshoots were conducted in Louisiana in early December 2016, under new producer Jerry Bruckheimer, writer Laeta Kalogridis, and director Danny Cannon.

Despite its impressive cast and high budget, Geostorm was panned by critics and underperformed at the box office, losing Warner Bros. $71.6 million. Critics criticized the movie's storytelling and visual effects. However, the movie has gained a cult following among disaster movie fans and those who enjoy cheesy action flicks. Its over-the-top storyline and stunning visual effects make it a guilty pleasure for many viewers.

Geostorm is the only co-production between Skydance Media and Warner Bros. Pictures. It's an ambitious effort to combine science fiction, action, and disaster movie tropes into one thrilling ride. Whether you love it or hate it, Geostorm is a distinctive example of the disaster movie genre that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Surviving the Geostorm: A Review

Geostorm is a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's a fun, over-the-top disaster movie that's perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Gerard Butler does a great job as the hero trying to save the world, and the supporting cast is solid.

However, the movie's plot is predictable, and the storytelling is weak in places. The visual effects are impressive, but they can't make up for the movie's shortcomings. It's a shame because Geostorm had the potential to be a great disaster movie, but it falls short of the mark.

Despite its flaws, Geostorm is an enjoyable movie, and it has gained a cult following among disaster movie fans. If you're looking for a mindless action flick with great special effects, then Geostorm is worth a watch. Just don't expect too much from the plot.

If you want to watch Geostorm or any other movie that's not available in your country, then sign up for ExpressVPN. With ExpressVPN, you can unblock Netflix and stream your favorite movies and shows from anywhere in the world. So sign up now and start enjoying the best that Netflix has to offer!
